The whole point of the story is that Jesus came for the Herdmans as much as he came for us.

We'd be missing the whole point of it if we'd turn them away.

And that's when her daughter says, well, what if they ruin it for you?

And she says, well, they probably will.

But it's not about me. And that to me is one of the most heroic moments in the movie. And that's what

I've seen in my wife, Amanda, and my mom, and my mother-in-law, is there women in my life,

moms who literally and figuratively put aside their own personal passions sometimes and their own personal desires

for the sake of something bigger than larger.

And that's not always only their family.

Sometimes they bring their family into the process of sacrifice for the church,

for the larger kingdom, for those in need.
