Summary

Welcome back to Moment. Your moment on a Monday for calm and connection and maybe even a shift in perspective before the week ahead. This week I am speaking with Paul Morgan-Bentley, author of “The Equal Parent” and dad to his three-year-old son. He welcomed into the world via surrogacy with his husband, Robin. As a gay dad, Paul found himself in a unique position as he took on primary caregiving and felt sick of all the praise he received for doing the basics. He saw how mothers were carrying the labour of childcare and asked why parental care is so unequal in households across the country. Is it biology? Gendered stereotypes? or something else?  We chat about what needs to change to encourage dads to take on more care responsibilities and encourage equal parenting. I hope you enjoy this moment episode.
