Lots to get to today. And because of that and because we got the time today, we are going to move right into one of the most important segments of every day. This is a segment that we call a moment of gratitude. And it's a pretty important segment. It sets the tone energetically for all the other conversations that we're going to have this morning. And we have been using this ritual since the show started because when you're doing the work of working in Black Talklandia, it's heavy work. The topics ain't light and fluffy. We don't do, you know, light pop culture here. You know, maybe, well, sometimes. Every once in a while. But we don't really have a lot of time. This is the shortest show on the channel Monday through Friday in terms of time. We only got two hours. Everybody else got three hours. So in terms of time, we ain't got a whole lot of it. But because the show is described as all shot, no chaser, we want to make sure that we are approaching these topics, not with the spirit of defeat, but with the spirit of being empowered. And we know that when we are rooted in joy, gratitude, and appreciation, we know that we cannot be trapped by fear, loneliness, and

depression. And so this ritual, it's called a moment of gratitude. It's super, super simple, and it goes

a little something like this. In just a minute you're going to hear music. When you hear the music,

it's going to be an invitation to you to join the rest of us, because when we hear it, we will

collectively begin taking the

slowest the deepest the most lung capacity expanding and joyful heart invigorate and troubled mind

cleansing weary soul uplifting the most amazingly juicy breath that you've ever taken with a couple

million people at once as we kick off our most important segment of every single day. It is time for our moment of

gratitude. Every day, folks, every day we get to do it. We got to do it. And I'm grateful that we are able to do it together. Shout out to the team. Shout out to the Urban View family, the Nubians. I am just so blessed to be in this space with y'all. Y'all just don't even know how happy it makes me to have this thing that we do here together. And last night got a chance to catch up on some, you know, TV watching. I don't really have a whole lot of time to watch TV. And but I guess I should even call it TV. I was on YouTube. I was watching YouTube videos because, you know, that's where I get. I don't often get a chance to watch things when they're live. And so I watched them on delay. And so I was watching, I was scrolling. And then I saw that Josh Johnson, who was one of my new favorite comedians, he had a new episode out. Now, the thing about Josh Johnson, one of the things that I think has distinguished him in this new era of whether you are familiar with his comedy or not, or whether you even like his comedy or not, He has this style where basically he's on tour,

the Flowers Tour. I got a chance to see it when he came out to the Northeast. And the Flowers

Tour is an active tour. I believe he is still on tour right now. But on YouTube and prior to this

tour, what I've come to learn about this young brother is that he essentially has a model where he uses comedy almost as a way of commenting on current news events.

So he's got a new set that he puts up where you see him live doing the set, but it's a new set that's related to news that's happening right now.

It's not like something that he perfected months and months and months ago. It is, and maybe he did, but he just has a way of connecting it to the current events. And it's dope because usually about once a week, I can catch up on my news with some humor from somebody like a Josh Johnson. One of those episodes was released last night. You can watch it. It's about Jillian Michaels and a whole host of other things because what it's about is never really what

it's about with Josh Johnson. And that's one of the reasons I like the journey that he takes the

listeners on. But he had this statement that he made in his episode that he released yesterday.

And it stuck with me. Because we've been talking a lot on the

moment of gratitude this month, the month of August. We've been talking a lot about attitude,

how we approach the circumstances of what we face in our life. We recognize that circumstances

are there to circumstance. They are there to create a situation that we have to respond to,
