We have a ritual on this show, and this ritual is one that we hold pretty sacred,

because we know that doing the work of Black Talklandia is not the easiest of things to do.

Frankly, it's kind of difficult, especially when your spirit be weighing heavy on you.

And it's even more difficult trying to navigate Black Talklandia when life just be laughing.

So we from the beginning of this show have a ritual that we call the moment of gratitude.

And it is designed to allow us to intentionally curate a set of emotions that are going to be more advantageous for the optimism side of us.

And those emotions are joy, gratitude, and appreciation.

And we prefer those emotions because when we're rooted and grounded in them, we have learned from lived experience and from the science that we cannot also be trapped by fear, loneliness, and depression.
