Welcome to another episode of Lurie Breaks It Down, a podcast where we dig deeply to connect the dots on the issues that shape our world.

I'm Lurie Daniel Favors, author, activist, attorney, and the host of the Lurie Daniel Favors show on Sirius XM's Urban View, Channel 126. If you like what you're about to hear, go ahead and give us five stars and then tell everybody that you know. And if you don't like it, just, child, keep it to yourself and pray our strength. Okay, thank you so much. Also, don't forget to check out my YouTube page, Lurie Daniel Favor's Media, where you should subscribe, like, and share because then you'll get notified when I post videos from my show, which I do just about every single day and when I go live with my YouTube audience. For those of you who knew to the show, we never just dive right into the news, even though I

0:55.1

just gave you all a bit of a preview as to what it is we are going to be talking about with today's

0:59.7

stories. We actually have a ritual on this show that is designed to help us ease into the difficulties

1:05.8

of the news in a way that is going to allow us to stay rooted in our sense of personal power and collective power.

1:13.8

And that ritual is one that we call a moment of gratitude, and it allows us to curate a bit of thought or emotional resonance

1:21.4

that allows us to be rooted in joy, gratitude, and appreciation.

1:25.8

And being rooted in joy, gratitude gratitude and appreciation when you are doing the

1:29.8

work of trying to heal the world and your place in it, it can be very heavy. And in addition to

1:35.8

the fact that healing the world is hard, just being a human on planet Earth, extraordinarily

1:40.1

difficult right now. So this ritual, a moment of gratitude, is pretty simple. It is so

1:45.2

simple. In fact, it goes a little something like this. In just a moment, you're going to hear

1:51.1

music. That music is going to be an invitation to you to join the rest of us, because when we hear

1:56.2

it, we will collectively begin taking the slowest, the deepest, the most lung capacity expanding,

2:02.0

joyful heart invigorating, troubled mind cleansing, and weary soul uplifting, the most

2:07.0

amazingly juicy breath that you've ever taken with a couple million people at once as we kick

2:12.8

off our most important segment of every single day. It is time for our moment of gratitude. Every day, folks, every day we got to do it and every day it matters.

2:51.3

Shout out to the team who's allowing me to connect with all of you from a continent and a body of water away.

2:58.0

Yeah, literally a continent and away.

3:00.0

I had to think about that for a minute as we were studying some maps with the kids we're out here with.

3:04.1

I appreciate you and all the work that you do.

All of you are part of
