I'm Lurie Daniel Favors, author, activist, attorney, and the host of the Lurie Daniel Favors show on Sirius XM's Urban View, Channel 126. If you like what you're about to hear, go ahead and give us five stars and then tell everybody that you know. And if you don't like it, just, child, keep it to yourself and pray our strength. Okay? Thank you so much.

Also, don't forget to check out my YouTube page, Lurie Daniel Favor's Media, where you should subscribe, like, and share, because then you'll get notified when I post videos from my show, which I do just about every single day and when I go live with my YouTube audience. We got a lot to get to this morning. and of course before we get any of it, we also have a ritual that we incorporate on this show. And this is a ritual that we use because doing the work of Black Talklandia every day is pretty hard. It's not the easiest of things to do because it's heavy conversation and it can weigh on the spirit, can weigh on the soul. And it's one of the reasons why we try really hard to make the conversations

1:11.0

as soul-touching, yes, but as empowering as possible. But we also recognize that we have to do more

1:18.2

than just tap into our intellect. And when it comes to these sorts of topics of race, gender,

1:23.4

culture, identity, politics, and the law, we also want to make sure that our emotional well-being

1:27.4

is as healthy as can be. We want to make sure our spiritual well-being is as healthy as can be,

1:31.9

and we want to make sure that our mental health is also as healthy as it can be. And we really

1:37.2

got to make sure that we are in alignment before we do Black Talklandia work. So, as I said,

1:42.0

we have a ritual on this show and it's pretty simple it is so

1:44.6

simple in fact it goes a little something like this in just a minute you're going to hear music

1:49.5

that music is going to be an invitation to you to join the rest of us because when we hear it we are

1:54.0

going to be collectively begin doing some things now these things are going to feel kind of easy

1:58.1

for you and that's that's good but the reason we do these things is

2:00.8

because we intentionally curate a sense of joy gratitude and appreciation on this show before we do

2:06.1

this black talklandia work and we know that the science has confirmed that when we are rooted in

2:10.5

gratitude we cannot be trapped by fear and so and just a moment you'll hear music that music will be an

2:15.9

invitation to you to join the rest of us as we collectively begin taking the slowest, the deepest and most lung capacity expanding, joyful heart invigorating, troubled mind cleansing and weary soul, uplifting the most amazingly juicy and phenomenal breath that you've ever taken with a couple million people at once.

2:32.6

As we kick off our most important segment of every single day. It is time for our moment of gratitude.

2:53.6

Thank you. Every day, folks, every day we got to do it and every day it matters.

3:10.6
