I'm Lurie Daniel Favors, author, activist, attorney, and the host of the Lurie Daniel Favors show on Sirius X-X-M's Urban View, Channel 126. If you like what you're about to hear, go ahead and give us five stars and then tell everybody that you know. And if you don't like it, just, child, keep it to yourself and pray our strength. Okay. Thank you so much.

Also, don't forget to check out my YouTube page, Lurie Daniel Favor's Media, where you should subscribe, like, and share because then you'll get notified when I post videos from my show, which I do just about every single day and when I go live with my YouTube audience. Our moment of gratitude is a ritual. It's a ritual that we have on this show that allows us to

0:55.0

intentionally curate a set of emotions, emotions that are freeing, that are propelling, that help us

1:00.6

to advance our cause into the future. And those are the emotions of joy, gratitude, and appreciation.

1:06.3

These are very important emotions because when you are rooted in joy, gratitude, and appreciation,

1:10.6

you cannot be trapped by fear, loneliness, and depression. And that really, really matters when you're trying to do the work of building out Black Talklandia. So the ritual, again, is called a moment of gratitude. It is a very simple ritual. It ain't nothing that's going to have to worry you or scare you. It is so simple. In fact, it goes a little something like this.

1:28.3

In just a minute, you're going to hear music. When you hear that music, it's going to be an

1:32.2

invitation to you to join the rest of us, because when we hear it, we are going to collectively

1:36.4

begin taking the slowest, deepest, most lung capacity expanding, joyful, heart, invigorating,

1:41.8

troubled mind cleansing, and weary soul, uplifting the most

1:45.0

amazingly juicy breath. As we kick off our most important segment of every single day,

1:50.8

it is time for our moment of gratitude. You know, I'm going to see. Every day, folks, every day we got to do it.

2:24.5

And every day it really does matter.

2:27.0

Shout out to the team.

2:27.9

Shout out to the Urban View family, the Nubian family, the podcast, the YouTube community family.

2:33.1

Y'all know I say this every day. I am so grateful for the work that we get to do together and that ain't going to change. That's just going to continue into 2026 and beyond. But today I want to share with you a quote from a phenomenal African leader, now an ancestor, but someone whose name we should all know. And that is the name of

2:51.7

Kwame and Krumah. And you should study Kwame and Krumah. We don't have time to go into his history or his

2:56.8

biography today, but I strongly encourage you to study Kwame and Krumah because this was someone who,

3:02.0

frankly, did so much for the liberation of African people, did so much for making sure that we have the ability

3:08.5

to thrive as a people and to collaborate and work together.

3:12.3

He was the president, a former president of Ghana, and just a political theorist, a true
