I'm Lurie Daniel Favors, author, activist, attorney, and the host of the Lurie Daniel Favors show on Sirius XM's Urban View, Channel 126. If you like what you're about to hear, go ahead and give us five stars and then tell everybody that you know. And if you don't like it, just, child, keep it to yourself and pray our strength. Okay? Thank you so much.

0:55.2

this show that allows us to, despite the heaviness of the news and the sometimes weariness

1:00.7

of the content that we have to discuss in this show, despite all of that, we have a ritual on

1:05.5

this show called a moment of gratitude. And that ritual is so important because when you're

1:10.2

doing the work of being in Black

1:11.5

Talklandia, it's heavy.

1:13.7

1:34.5

depression so the ritual that we use here is pretty pretty simple it's so simple in fact it goes

1:39.4

a little something i like this in just a minute you're going to hear music that music's going to be an invitation to you to join the rest of us, because when we hear it, we are going to collectively begin taking the slowest, the deepest, the most lung capacity, expanding, joyful heart, invigorating, troubled mind, cleansing, and weary, soul, uplifting, the most amazingly juicy breath that you've ever taken with a couple million people at once as we

2:02.2

kick off our most important, folks, every single day we got to do it.

2:39.7

And every single day it matters.

2:41.9

Shout out to the team who does the work of helping us to flow on this show.

2:45.8

Shout out to all of you in the Urban View family, in the Nubian family, and to the podcast community, because of course, now the

2:52.1

moments of gratitude for every single day are posted as an early morning mini podcast in the morning

2:57.9

the next day. So shout out to all of you in the podcast space as well. And today's conversation,

3:03.1
