Talklandia is not easy work. It is in fact quite difficult. And we know that in addition to the

fact that we are called to have these conversations, we are also called to be living lives as

human beings. And that

means that we face difficulties. And frankly, it's hard out here for a human. So we want to make

sure before we start doing the heavy lifting of analyzing what's happening in the world around us,

we want to make sure that we are doing everything that we can to focus in on a key set of

emotions that will allow us to,

yes, engage in these conversations, yes, learn this information, but also feel empowered about

our ability to do something about it. The ritual that we use is called a moment of gratitude,

and it is designed to help us really curate a set of emotions that include joy, gratitude,

and appreciation because we have learned from lived experience and the science confirms for us

that when we are rooted, enjoy gratitude and appreciation, we cannot also be trapped by fear,

loneliness, and depression.

So we take this ritual pretty seriously.
