These are the rules and the thing. This is a powerful thing. Yeah. This like a car, right?

This is it. And this is how you're going to keep yourself safe on it. And especially our teens and, you know, our younger children, but our teens, it's also about reminding, because the version of stranger danger has changed.

Okay. When we were younger, it was literally, don't take sweets from a stranger.

Don't get in someone's car. We don't play outside literally in a way we used to, quote unquote,

back in the day. Stranger danger is now someone behind a laptop that you don't know.

And so when I speak to my 50-year-old stepdaughter about it,

I always have to remind her, I'm like,

I don't care what picture you see or how the person is engaging with you

to make them feel like they're a 15-year-old girl or guy.

That might not be the way. And so you have to make them feel like they're a 15 year old girl or guy, that might not be the way.

And so you have to make a decision about why you're interacting with this person.

And one of the ways we temperature check in our household is, if you are unwilling to share this

conversation with me as a parent, it shouldn't be happening.

And you know that.

But if you're not able to just give me access to a conversation or your phone,

you know there is perhaps a conversation happening that are breaking the boundaries I have set for you as a parent.

What I love so much about what you're saying is the gravitas and the weight.

And I can feel that even in the way that you're saying it in how you're talking to your kids about how important this is.

This isn't just like, you know, here you go, hits some nice pictures.

No, no, no.

This is about safety.
