Hey, everybody. I'm so excited to finally be speaking with Dr. Darya Long Gillespie.

Dr. Darya and I have known each other for many years now. We first met when I was working in television, but really had become closer over the last year as I started Smarter News, and I

can't thank you enough, Dr. Daria, because you have been there from the beginning.

And actually, when we were talking way back when Smart News was launching, you were telling me

about the book, Mom Hack.

So I have a bunch of questions about your new book that just came out that were really excited

about.

But today I was thinking as I was driving, I was thinking, you know, I've never really asked

Dr. Dario why she became a doctor.

Like I don't really know that part of your story. So tell us a little

bit about what brought you to medicine in the first place. We're like going way. Yeah, let's go back.

Yeah, aren't we? Okay. So I became a doctor, I think, for two reasons. One, I really liked what I

saw and the ability to take people when they were at their worst in feeling scared

and in pain and being able to offer them something.

Like, you know, you come to the right place.

I'm going to help you.

I can make this better.

And I also realized somewhere along the way that when there were emergencies that most

of them were running away from, I was like running to them to like try to go

help and do something. And I thought everybody did that. And then I realized that no, that's an
