Modern life is rubbish.

Don't dismiss me as an old fart.

Listen, because in the next 30 minutes I'm going to tell you why modern life is so bad.

Why this country and indeed the globe is so bad. Why this country and indeed the globe is so divided and it's all down to modern technology.

The internet, mobile phones, they were all meant to make us communicate more, but we're talking less.

They were meant to bring us together, but they divided us.

We've lost the ties that bind us and as a result society is going to hell in a

hand cart or probably on the back of a mobile phone.

As I say, stay with me whilst I describe why modern life is so utterly rubbish.

I don't want to look at this through rose-tinted glasses,

but I want to ask you the question,

do you think it was better when we all went to Sunday school?

Are you old enough to remember Sunday school? In the year seven, late 60s, 70s, when I

was growing up, all as prody kids, the Protestants, we went to the local Sunday school,

every Sunday. In fact, you got a little card if you went every week.

It was St Nicholas Church and this is what got me thinking about this whole subject of are we living in better or worse times.

I can't remember a time when as a society particularly here in the UK and when I look

across to the states it seems the same that we've been so divided. Let me put some flesh

on that. St Nicholas Church is the church that I went to as a kid.

I'm not particularly religious now, I don't go to church now, but then we went every week.

Me mom, my dad, my dad was a copper, and my two brothers. And we lived in a normal house, well it was a police house actually, so it was a tied house.
