We live in such a tech-driven world. It can be easy to sit and stare at the screen and to find

yourself lost in the whole world on your screen when your children are right in front of you, maybe even just

ready to play a game or do something with you to talk with you. So today we're going to be talking

about having a healthy approach to technology use.

And I'm John Fuller joined by Dr. Danny who heads up our focus on the family parenting team.

And Danny, how much time is, let's say, the average parent spending on his or her phone?

Yeah, I looked this up recently just to see the most recent one, especially after COVID,

what impact has that had on the phone use and it's three hours and 15 minutes the

average person spends on their phones and in any given day in any given day

three hours 15 minutes and then one out of five spend about four and a half

hours or more on their phone so a lot of time is spent on that phone that it was designed that way it was designed to keep you in the phone yeah right and

John and so that that's a big challenge for many parents today well I think all of us

struggle with looking at the phone and thinking it'll just be a minute or two and then oops, it's 10 or 15 or 20 minutes and so this is an important conversation we're about to listen to.

Ellis, who's the mom of young kids, and she was very transparent about her

own struggles with technology. Let me ask you a practical question on digital stuff. I mean parents it's probably the

number one concern that parents have today is screen time phone everything like that.

Yeah, I think our technology has vastly outpaced our ethics.
