So for those of you who have mocked the mock, you can suck it.

Because guess what?

I got the season opener right. Just a few minutes ago I learned from

a really good source and I tweeted this out at Kevin Sheen, D.C., that Washington will open up its

2023 season at home against the Arizona Cardinals, exactly the way I mocked it. If I sound proud,

happy, I am because I don't think I've ever gotten a season opener right. I think I've had

the opponent right, but the venue I'm wrong. I think I had the Giants as the season opener one year in the Meadowlands

and they played it at FedEx Field. But I don't think I've ever gotten the season opener right.

And the truth is, more thought goes into the season opener than the rest of the mock schedule.

So I gave you the reasoning the other day. I mean, netting it out, you know, to begin the Dan Snyder era, it would have sucked to have a home game against the Cowboys, Eagles or Giants, Cowboys and Eagles in particular, where the opponent's fans overtook the stadium.

And I thought that even though they had opened up at home three straight ears, maybe the NFL would say, hey, beginning of a new era,

let's let Washington play a home opener. They can sell it out and let's give them, you know,

the least imposing fan base as an opponent, as a road opponent. And Arizona kind of fit that bill.

I have no idea if that's the reasoning they used.

I don't even care.

I got it right.

The rest of the mock schedule could be completely wrong.

I do not care.
