Welcome to Thunder No. What is up? It's up. It's the rant. My name is Jeff Rachalvin. It is Wednesday, June

0:19.8

24th. And we have a big show plan for you today. I'm going to talk about a mock draft that I was in last night where I used the very things I talked about on this podcast the last two days. And really the goal here is to pull the curtain back. You know, I always want to, you know, really give you a sense of what am I thinking about when I go into these drafts and what am I thinking about when I make my picks, etc.

Ultimately, you know, hey, you can use it or maybe not, but I think that that was always the big mystery for me back in the day.

0:53.2

I remember before I was in the industry like back in like 2005, 2006 when I was

0:58.2

starting to get very into fantasy football. I mean I've been playing since the late

1:02.3

90s but that was when I really

1:03.8

got the bug. But I really didn't know what anybody else was doing in terms of drafting.

1:08.9

Like this is like the very very beginnings of the industry starting to take off too by the way because that was

1:24.7

You know, none of us doing this in the fantasy industry, he helped pave the way,

1:29.1

but it was still in its infancy then.

1:30.7

And you really didn't know what the heck anybody else was doing I mean yes

1:33.0

so we're like deep message board posts about draft strategy but for the most part you

1:38.0

know you may even still be in that position like what are other people doing when it comes to drafts?

1:45.9

So that's just the thought process here, you know, to expose you to what I'm thinking during

1:50.3

the course of a draft.

1:51.8

And in this case, yeah, it's against against industry folks so it's going to be a little bit different than your home leagues but generally speaking

1:57.2

the industry itself does shape the home league drafts now you're always going to have one or two maybe wild cards in your

2:04.4

home league drafts and you know who those guys are, but for the most part, you know, especially when you're talking

2:09.6

the first five rounds or so of drafts. I mean, they are so heavily slanted towards what the

2:13.9

industry says. It isn't even funny. So anyway the draft just a
