Good afternoon and welcome back to the Independent Republic of Mike Graham.

We've reached the end of another fine week here in the Republic and we haven't got into too much trouble. We've managed to solve quite a few problems of various merits over the course

of the last few days. We've been talking

this morning about the problem in a particular school in Birmingham where the teachers are

so frightened of going to work. They've actually gone out on strike because they've got a risk

of being stabbed. Nobody does anything that they're told. The attendance rates are terrible. It's

in a very bad part of Birmingham and nobody really knows how on earth they're going to fix the problem.

Coming up, we're going to find out why Britain is a nation of moaners.

Apparently, the average Britain spends 10,000 minutes a year complaining.

Now, I haven't worked out on my rudimentary mathematics exactly how many hours that is,

but I've got a man here called David Spencer who will no doubt tell me.

And he's not renowned for moaning an awful lot more than that.

10,000 minutes a week.

How about 10,000 minutes a day, perhaps for him?

Or 10,000 minutes a year.
