In this special episode, Adam and Danielle's oldest child, 15-year-old Mia Silverstein comes on to discuss her experience grappling with sexual identity, and what she wants kids and parents everywhere to know about self, family, and social acceptance as someone in the LGBTQ community. What was "coming out" like for her? How has social media both helped and hindered her experience with self-confidence and establishing her identity? Why have movies, TV, and books been such a source of solace and connection for her, and which have had the most impact on her experience? Mia's hope in doing this episode is that people will feel more comfortable and less alone in whatever they are going through concerning sexual identity, and also to help parents everywhere with some tips and advice from the perspective of a teenager who is truly in the thick of growing up. 1:21.8	the podcast now over two years and I would say this is something we've been talking about for
1:26.2	probably over a year that you've wanted to come on and I've been a little hesitant not because I
1:30.7	don't trust you or want you on or anything like that because there's nobody I would rather have
1:35.7	on the podcast. But I guess as a mom my first instinct is you know we get rated and reviewed and
1:42.9	we get a lot of feedback. Most of it is overwhelmingly wonderful and nonjudgmental and incredible
1:50.3	but of course with anything there's that other side and I would I just never ever ever my heart
1:56.8	would be wrenched if I ever had that other side happen when it came to my kid. So you know we really
2:05.4	have the most incredible community but of course my first instinct is always just to be very
2:09.9	protective of you but I am so happy you're here you're being so brave and you're just you know
