1:05.3	So this week, we're going to go back and do part two of who killed Stephen Smith.
1:09.3	So let's start with a recap.
1:12.4	Smith was found dead just before 4 a.m. on July 8, 2015, he was found in the middle of Sandy Run Road in Hampton County,
1:20.0	South Carolina. On June 22nd, 2021, huge news broke in his case. I was first to report that the
1:26.6	South Carolina law enforcement
1:27.9	division, also known as SLED, the same agency investigating the Murdoch murders, opened an
1:32.8	investigation into Stephen Smith's death. SLED told me that this was based on information gathered
1:38.1	during the course of the double homicide investigation of Paul and Maggie Murdoch. We don't know
1:43.2	what information led them to that decision,
1:45.7	but it's important to look back on the 2015 case and see what went wrong. Like the probe of the
1:52.1	2019 boat crash that killed Mallory Beach, the 2015 investigation and dismissed death was chaotic
