0:06.4	somewhat of a Monday Minute Q&A episode but in particular for some questions that have
0:13.4	come through for me directly. And I guess I should say for new listeners who don't know
0:18.4	my voice automatically. This is Mark. Questions that have come through for me directly or
0:25.5	about particular gear that I use basically things for me. And I've answered a lot of these
0:33.0	questions directly via email when they come in. But there's several questions or topics
0:38.9	that kind of continually to come up. And I thought it would be good to answer those more
0:44.1	publicly on the podcast. So both more people hear it. And also so that there's a resource
0:51.2	to point people to when these questions do come up. And so I'm just going to fly so low,
0:56.8	kind of unscripted just to the few different points of questions that have come up continually.
1:03.6	So the first one is why I built a 7-SOM which is a short action ultra mag over other 7-millimeter
1:13.5	cartridges such as the 28 nozzle or the 280 accling improved or the 7-millimeter rim mag.
1:23.0	So just for context I built a 7-SOM about a year and a half ago. I already had a 6-5. I
1:29.9	already had a 30 caliber. I wanted a 7-millimeter. And in particular it shows the 7-SOM because
1:37.6	I didn't want a long action. I didn't want a belted magnum. And I didn't want. I wanted something
1:47.9	efficient, not necessarily the most powerful. So something like the 28 nozzle is an absolute hammer.
1:56.1	But you're burning it on a powder to get the performance. You're going to have things like shorter
2:01.1	barrel life, etc. etc. So I wasn't interested in a hot rod such as the 28 nozzle. I didn't want a
2:10.2	long action or a belted magnum. So I didn't go 7-millimeter rim mag. I do think it's a great cartridge.
2:17.6	It just wasn't what I was looking for in this build. Or a 280 accling improved which is I think a
2:23.4	fantastic option is great. But again I didn't basically want a long action. So I was really considering
2:31.4	something like a 7-SOM, a 7-Winchester, short mag, etc. Aside now though I do think that
