Summary

Today's word of the day is 'hope' because that's what Opening Day is in MLB . It's hope: winning the World Series, making the playoffs, winning today, not finishing in last place. It's all hope (0:06) So You Wanna Talk To Samson! is special today. People wanted to know about some Opening Days I've been apart of. Let's start with my first ever game... Montreal Expos (2:26). Next up is my first game with the then Florida Marlins (9:02). Can't forget about the time we ran out of hot dogs during our home opener (14:20). Opening Day after winning the World Series was a surreal moment (17:00). Ah yes, 2012, the Marlins Park debut with Muhammad Ali (19:48). Does anyone remember the time the Marlins had a rain delay inside a stadium with a roof? I do (28:49). I'll end today with my final home opener in 2017, the first one without Jose Fernandez, and what that meant to me (32:52). I did the same thing every Opening Day for 18 years... here's what it was. #waittosee ---------------------------   'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts.   Follow David on Twitter: @DavidPSamson  To watch David on CBS Sports HQ visit https://www.cbssports.com/live/ To hear more from the CBS Sports Podcast Network, visit https://www.cbssports.com/podcasts/ Learn more about your ad choices.
