Struggle. Nothing personal. Word of the day for Friday, December 3rd, 2021 is struggle.

What a struggle! Everybody struggles. We don't use that word enough.

We actually use it too much, don't we?

Rob Manford did a press conference yesterday. It is day two of the major league baseball

lockout. And no, we're not going to do a countdown of every single day.

We're not growing a beard. We're not doing anything like that.

But when things come up during the course of the lockout, negotiations, press conferences, press

releases, any movement of any kind by either side, I want to talk about it because I want to explain

why people are saying what they're saying, doing what they're doing, and what's actually happening every single day.

So the owners vote earlier in the day on Wednesday to lock out Wednesday night or 11.59 pm when the

collective bargaining agreement ran out. Owners get into a meeting. It's a Zoom call on the old days.

It would just be a phone call. Zoom call, you take a vote. You need 23 votes to instruct the

commissioner to lock out the players. So they get the vote. Then the commissioner's office. It is a

formal act by management following all the protocols, all the rules, all the laws.
