I guess as we record this, we're what, four day, a little less than four days away from

the draft.

Yeah, man, it's got here in a hurry.

Do you think this is kind of here to stay, this doing it on the Sunday before All-Star

break?

It's hard to say exactly because I think the commissioner's office is very pleased with the idea of having it as part of the All-Star game.

I don't think anybody in baseball really likes having it this late.

Like it just disrupts trying to watch guys for next year's draft.

It disrupts your normal procedures for evaluating players to make trades before the

deadline. I ran into a general manager at the draft combine who told me that the general

managers had voted 30 to nothing in favor of a June draft, having the draft back at some point

in June. And he said he couldn't remember the last time 30 GMs agreed on anything.
