But ladies and gentlemen, we've got a lot to cover right here on

this MLB preview. So let's go ahead and bring in the stars of the show. We've got Matt Snyder,

fresh off the WBC. We got Angelo Maglioka, aka A. Mags. And of course, we've got Mike McClure.

Gentlemen, we've got a lot to cover. Let's cover some headlines, some more generic topics, if you will. I should probably not characterize this as generic because it involves the Dodgers. The Dodgers are favorites to win this thing. It's plus 225 at BetMGM. I saw it as low as plus 210 in other places with the Yankees trailing, the Mariners, the Blue Jays,

the Mets, and then it goes down from there with the Red Sox Phillies, Braves, Cubs, and Astros.

I got to ask you guys, are they as likely a favorite as you think?

And Matt Snyder, author of The Leadoff Man, I got my copy yesterday, by the way.

You're going to lead us off today on the Dodgers.

Okay, so here's the thing.

I often say first base is the easiest position on the field,

but when I say easiest, that doesn't mean it's easy.

The Dodgers are the most likely team to win,

but that doesn't mean that they're overwhelmingly likely.

If you had to put a percentage on it, 20 to 30%, even if you said 30%, that still means there's a 70%

chance that they do not win the World Series.

So I definitely think that they are the most likely team to win it, and they should have

the closest odds to even.

But I think it's kind of embarrassing, frankly, how many people are acting like it's such a sure thing, because it's definitely not a sure thing. Small sample stuff, so many fluky things can happen. And we just saw the Blue Jays take a lead to the bottom or the top of the ninth inning in game seven of the World Series. You could argue the Blue J should have won that thing. There was a close play home plate where if the runner would have slid, he might have been safe. How many people had the Blue Jays beating the Dodgers in the World Series heading into the season? It was that close. The margins were so small. Like I said, they are the most likely team to win it, but that doesn't mean that they are likely.
