This week, I want to start with a question. Why do people believe in conspiracy theories?

After all, many conspiracy theories are built on nothing but hearsay, inaccurate reporting, and circumstantial evidence.

But despite this, obviously, many of us find these cases to be endlessly fascinating.

Perhaps one of the reasons is that we suspect that there's a deeper, darker side to history, and we want to know the truth behind it.

And when the truth slips through, we're reminded of all the things going on outside of our purview at any given moment.

Today, we're going to cover one of those cases, a classic case in conspiracy lore, the story of MK. Ultra.

The story of MK. Ultra is one of secrecy, torture, spies, and illegal science experiments

of mind control and murder. And it's also all completely true. In fact, we can't even really

call this story a conspiracy theory. We don't have to guess what the government was doing.

They've told us themselves. For over 20 years, the CIA drugged, experimented on,

and even tortured Americans without their consent, all in the name of finding a means of mind

control. The program was called M.K. Ultra, and will forever stand as the ultimate evidence

that at any time, the government could be lying to you. And if you're lucky, that's the worst

they'll do to you. As always, everybody, if you want to see the references that I use to construct
