This is StoryQuest. Today's story is... Mitsy Mittens' Super Kitten.

Mitzy Mittens was not by any reasonable measure a superhero.

She was small, not sleek small like the show cats on the

telly, but proper small, a little bit fluffy round the middle. One white paw that always looked

as if she'd stepped in a blob of cream and a habit of slipping off things, she had absolutely

no business climbing in the first place. She lived in a neat red brick house at the end of a quiet street where the buses hissed and sighed at the corner,

and the postman always whistled the same tune.

Her humans thought she was adorable.

The other cats in the neighbourhood, on the other hand, thought she was hilarious.

Careful, Bitsy, called Basil, a long, narrow ginger cat who liked to sit on the garden wall as if he owned the entire postcode.

That flower pot looks tricky.

Mitsy, determined to prove that she could leap onto the wall like any

other cat, crouched, wiggled, sprang, and landed directly in the flower pot. Yay! Soil

everywhere! Booh! And then it wobbled, wobbled more and more, And then crashed down, bouncing off a small plastic gnome.

And then smashing on the ground, taking the garden hose with her. A hose that sprung to life, soaking everything, including Mitzie.

Mitzi froze, one poor sticking out of compost.

Basil burst out laughing,

Perfect landing, 10 out of 10, for enthusiasm.

From the fence, a fluffy grey cat named Tilly chimed in,

At least she watered the plants.

Mitzi scrambled out, trying to look dignified,
