It's been a blur but I think it's mostly behind me here now and lots of news is behind us as well.

I think where we need to start a course is with the slightly maybe even more than slightly expected news that a the jazz loan behold are listening on Donovan Mitchell and B that the New York

NYX are the primary suit right and so this started with reporting I believe low chat at first that the jazz are showing a willingness to listen on Donovan Mitchell trade scenarios and well and we should add also there's been plenty of reporting

of saying that you know that like from Andy Larson for example that no actually they were listening more fully. Yeah exactly that they discussed it maybe even before Rudy Rudy go bear trade and

that's not surprising considering any and she's going to listen he's going to talk it's not they're not maybe and maybe they did a little bit of that to to garner to garner some intrigue when he became more fully on the market and this is a different trade

negotiation than the one that we saw for there and we'll continue to see for Kendrick for a few different reason one Donovan Mitchell is significantly younger he is 25 now will turn 26 before the start of the coming season

also Donovan Mitchell to this point his career has not been as good as Kendrick can't grant in the conversation for best play the world and Don Mitchell is one of the better shooting guards if we're going to count

count qualify as a two some teams will see him as a one and everything else and also because the jazz in particular and this will come up in a few different facets

during this conversation could potentially be looking for a different kind of return and what I mean by that is Brooklyn because they owe all of these picks to

primarily to the Houston Rockets as a part of the the hard and trade the incentive for them to be weak is diminished that they think it diminished does not mean zero like

they're we talked about those incentives and the swabs and everything else however the you touch as now that they've traded go bear for a pick centric

package their books are pretty clean and if they traded done Mitchell primarily for future assets their team quality would be pretty weak

and so thus they could start maximizing draft capital right away that is not the only path for Danny in cheer if they wanted to do don't

Mitchell they could do it for players that will help them work currently they could do the players who are already in the league but are young path as well you know like

current rookies current software is even just drafted players you know that came up Jeremy Lam if those remember was in the hard and trade after having just been drafted by the Houston Rockets

so I think there are a lot of avenues here but the overwhelming dynamic difference between this and the Brooklyn situation is that if you talk what if you talk values

the quality of their own draft picked this year there's an incentive to move on Mitchell earlier rather than later

yeah their incentive is definitely aligned in that direction and also frankly it's probably less of a big deal to have this happen deep in the offseason locally than right during the middle of the season and the nicks are very motivated if you know about all the C.A. connections and that the nicks have basically been pursuing him since Leon Rose came in in 2020 and all of his New York connections

also reporting seems to have indicated that this is going to end up in New York New York particularly if the jazz are prioritizing draft picks has the best package among other potential suitors Miami is really the only other one that we've heard to really be interested

obviously Toronto's another one that's been banding Nevada a little bit but I don't think the jazz are really that interested in obviously they'd be interested in Scotty Barnes but he's not going anywhere in a Mitchell package
