Summary

Mitch Holthus has been calling Kansas City Chiefs football games since 1994. Now in his 24th season, Mitch will get his chance to call his first Super Bowl for the Chiefs against San Francisco.

It's been multiple people, Mitch, that have told me that your faith is very important to you.

So I wanted to come and chat with you.

Tell me about your faith and kind of where that stems from and how it's the foundation for you.

Well, it's the most important thing that we do.

And because all of this is really just a means to an end, right?

I was very fortunate.

I grew up in rural Kansas and had terrific parents and grew up in a faith-based home.

But like most faith journeys, it's through twists and turns.

And there were a couple of moments in my freshman year

where I really realized it was a personal relationship with Christ.

The second would have been near my end of my undergraduate days

in trying to decide what's next.

And kind of Michael W. Smith, you know, place in this world stuff.

And that's when I had been distracted with a lot of things.

And I remember I just came to another point of

saying no I want my life to count um for for the Lord and um to use it use the blessings he's given me

uh to make it um with an internal impact,

with an eternal perspective.
