Rob, good to talk to you.

A very special day.

So do you miss days like this?

Do you miss the pageantry of politics, or are you still like, man, I'm so glad I'm

done with that?

No, I don't miss it because I'm an attentive citizen, and days like today are important,

and I hope always will be to us. They mark new

beginnings, and there's always hope attached to that. I think a lot of people, I hope,

whether they agreed or disagreed with the outcome of the election, or feeling hope this morning,

and I hope we're given reasons to be hopeful.

So you obviously were part of a couple inaugurations for yourself as governor and then obviously

as a part of the early days of the Bush administration. I want to start with you.

As the person who's taking the oath, as the person who's going to be in the spotlight,

in this case it'll be President Trump, but it was Governor Daniels. What was on your mind in the build-up to those moments before you took the oath of

office? It was emotional, of course. I had never run for any political office before.

It had been a campaign people, I think, still remember a first time an incumbent Indiana governor had lost.

And so we felt a huge responsibility.
