Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Robertson. As always, I am your good friend and host Steve Robertson here on the

Hump Day edition of the yard. One day closer to college football season, one day closer to Mississippi State football.

This weekend, of course, as you guys are aware, there will be a handful of games just enough to kind of wet the appetite.

The big one, of course, I think everybody would agree.

Miami and Florida, former Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen will take on former Mississippi State Defense Coordinator, Mani Diaz.

Kind of interesting, the Dan Mullen coaching tree kind of pairing up here.

It will be very interesting.

I am pulling from Miami, to be honest.

I really would like to see Miami win the game.

Really like Mani Diaz.

Not that I've got anything against anybody else, but I don't know I just I just I kind of I want to

see Mandy do really well one of the things I'll share with you guys and I didn't want to get too

wrapped up in this today but so when manny was here his son little manny played baseball with my

son Ian and manny and I kind of ended up coaching the team because

we had a coach, but he had some other obligations at times and couldn't be there. And so

Mani would get off practice from Mississippi State and come over to the baseball yard and sometimes

help coaching games and certainly helped in practices.

And so it was nice to be able to see, you know, Coach Diaz in the dad role.

You know, it was just a different deal. And having spent some time with him and kind of getting

to know his value system and kind of how he sees life, it makes him a very easy guy to cheer for.

And you know what a great job he did with the 2010 defense.

You know, he came back the second time.
