Mississippi State played well for a while, but came up short of an upset bid of #2 LSU.

Officiating was an issue around the league this weekend. Is the SEC really serious about fixing the issue?

Welcome to the Vaughnard with Steve Robertson. As always, I am your good friend and host Steve Robertson here on the magnificent Monday edition of the yard.

0:08.7

Hope things are well with you. We'll meet with Joe Moore had a little bit later today. Not exactly sure which Joe we're going to get.

0:14.8

And what I mean by that is, you know, we had an eventful post-game press conference on Saturday.

0:20.6

And let me share with you a couple things about that sort of thing. We talked about this some late last week, you know, because last Monday, Joe made reference to, you know, daughter heard that, you know, people were saying her dad sucks, that sort of stuff. And he goes, you know, somebody that's fair because I did suck. And some suck and some people were like well you know steve what do you think about the press conference and my my opinion of saturday's press conference is much like monday's press conference i'm just not big on press conferences you know that there are some people out there that get all been out of shape and say oh well did you hear what they said they didn didn't say this. They did say this. Why didn't he say this? Why did he say it this way? Then you also throw in the backdrop of the Paul Feinbaum interview on Friday, which I'll be honest with you, I think a lot of that is a little bit silly. My honest opinion is, and this is what I try to give you guys

1:13.0

on the show. I don't try to pull any punches. I think the SEC network has a problem with how they

1:19.1

package some of this stuff from time to time. And what I mean by that is, is the mandate of the

1:24.0

SEC network was to always be a promotional vehicle for all 14 member institutions

1:29.0

in the South Eastern Conference, but that's not what it is. It's also not a place for Paul

1:35.7

Feinbaum to get up there and to push his own issues. And I really thought that the way that he

1:41.6

handled John Cohen was absolutely shameful.

1:49.6

And then after John has left the set, then he wants to kind of lob some shots.

1:54.4

John, I think it's disgusting, to be honest with you.

1:57.9

I think Paul Feinbaum is a troll with a mic stand.

2:02.1

And to be honest, I think it is a bad look for the league.

2:07.5

I mean, this is the guy that has built a platform of making fun of SEC fans.

2:10.6

Not to mention, I don't know if you, some of you guys may be too young to remember this.

2:21.0

But Paul Feinbaum wrote a series of books called, I hate this. Like, I hate Mississippi State and here's 303 reasons why you should too and I hate Ole Miss and I hate Auburn now he was not a I can't say he just

2:28.6

picked and choose but if that is the platform that a person uses you know to kind of kind of say, you know what, this is who I am,

2:35.9

and I hate this school, and I hate this school, and this is what I don't like about them,

2:39.3

even if it's comedic value, that's not a person we need speaking for the SEC.

2:46.7

That's how I feel about it.

2:47.9

And I felt that way for a long time.
