Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Roberts and as always I am your good friend and host Steve Robertson here on the Maroon Friday edition of the yard. Hope things are well with you wherever you are today. Hope that you're able to celebrate Maroon Friday with us and many of you are celebrating from home.

Hope everybody is adjusting to that. Looking forward to you, return to some sense of normalcy at some point.

I don't know that anything will ever be what it was.

I think there will be a lot of differences.

I think we'll be a lot more careful with how we interact with one another.

But I don't like this whole feeling of how we all just kind of look at other

people and see them as unclean. Maybe it's just me. I think we're going to lose a little

something when it comes to civility with all of that. But that's a, you didn't tune in to hear

that. There are plenty of other things that we can be a little bit concerned about.

I'm going to address some of those things today. We're going to talk men's and women's

basketball today. Big news on both fronts. We'll share all of the updates that we have on the

women's basketball search. That is winding up. Should be taken care of this weekend, barring something

completely unforeseen. Could happen today. There was a report last night, Ben Portnoy, our friend,

I'm not being negative but Ben. I don't know who he talked to or what he learned, but he reported

that we had agreed the terms with, and maybe I'm mischaracterizing

the report, but he put out that Nikki McCrae-Pinson was set to be the new coach at Mississippi

State. Now, that may ultimately prove to be true, but at this point, we have not agreed

the terms with her. I do know that she is a preferred candidate, and we'll get into more detail about all of that.

But we're still kind of waiting this thing out.

Had some contact with some Mississippi Senate officials this morning.

They are optimistic that a deal should get done today with somebody.

Who that remains to be is a matter of some discussion.
