Welcome to our daily rosary meditation. Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen. Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

The Third Commandment is to honor the Sabbath, that is, to live Sundays according to the way God designed the human person.

Now why is this such a big deal?

Although it may be common knowledge to you, a lot of people, a lot of Catholics,

don't realize that it is a grave evil to miss Mass on Sunday without a good reason, or at least they don't know why they should go to Mass.

The Catechism makes it plain. It says, the faithful are obliged to participate in the

Eucharist on days of obligation unless excused for a serious reason, say for

example illness or the care of infants, or if they're

dispensed by their own pastor. Those who deliberately fail in this

obligation commit a grave sin. But why? Why do we have to go to Sunday

Mass and why is it such a big deal to miss Mass, to miss a weekly gathering here or there. How could that possibly jeopardize your

eternal salvation? Why is our God a God that cares so much about attendance?

Our Father who art in heaven, hallow would be your name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us to stay our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil

Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women.
