Strange Disappearance.

Corey Fay was a student at the Jesuit High School in Beaverton, Oregon.

On November 23,rd, 1991,

he asked friend Mark Moore

if he would go elk hunting with him

and another friend in the Badger Creek Wilderness of Oregon.

Corey had trained in outdoor survival

and he had experience of hunting on previous trips

that he'd taken into the wilderness.

For this trip, he'd sensibly prepared by taking with them a compass, solar blanket, gun and

ammo. The three young men arrived in the wilderness location at approximately 6.30pm, at which

point they split up after agreeing to meet back later at the car.

This was the last time Corey was seen. That evening, it was very cold. But what most struck his

friend Mark was that despite the area they were in, being well known for the presence of Elk, he later said that he was surprised to find the area they were in being well known for the presence of elk, he later

said that he was surprised to find the area completely lacking in any elk. He couldn't see any

at all. He found it really strange. A few hours later, he made his way back to the vehicle,

and he and his friend waited for Corey.

But Corey never showed up.

Sometime later, they called the Sheriff's Office at Wasco County, and a search effort began, which was extensive, with as many as 250 search and rescue personnel, along with volunteers, horses, tracker dogs from the Rocky Mountain

Search and Rescue, and a helicopter. It lasted for ten days, but not one sign of the young

man was found, and on December 1st, the search was ended. On December the 22nd, three weeks into Corey's disappearance,

specialist search dogs were flown in for a last-ditch attempt to find the missing man,
