Today we have two tales of abduction, each of which has its own interesting turn of events.

The first is the case of a missing girl who was found thanks to unsolved mysteries on Netflix.

And the other is about a young hero who saved his younger sister using a slingshot.

Number one, unsolved mysteries girl found.

The show that actually helped inspire our channel has done it again and helped solve an actual missing person's case.

For decades, various TV shows, documentaries, and even movies have either solved cases or made them more publicly known.

And with the revival of unsolved mysteries on Netflix, I got the word out on this case and changed a lot of people's lives.

It was a normal Saturday evening recently when a woman in Asheville, North Carolina, called the police because she noticed something rather remarkable.

Strolling around, shopping inside the store, Plato's closet was a familiar face that she recognized from a recent episode of Unsolved Mysteries.

The show, if you don't know, was very popular in the late 80s and early 90s and features true crimes stories that are often, as the title says, unsolved.

It features reenactments to tell the story behind the cases backed up with interviews of those who knew the victims and suspects in real life.

Apparently, this woman recognized 15-year-old Kayla and Bayon because she saw an episode of the series discussing her case.

Kayla was originally from Illinois, been missing for six years.

Though that nine-year-old was living with her father, Ryan Asurka and South Elgin, which is a suburb of Chicago.

Mr. Asurka had full custody and was divorced from his wife and Kayla's mother, Heather, who was only allowed visitation rights.

In 2016, Mr. Asurka won those custody rights because of how Heather would metal with their daughter's medical and health issues as stated by the father's attorney.

Prior to that, the former couple had shared custody, but when Heather moved to Georgia with the child,

that was when Mr. Asurka fought for full custody.
