February 25th. President Donald Trump beat his own record for the longest annual address to Congress

in U.S. history last night. His address last year wasn't technically a state of the union. President

Bill Clinton had held the record for the longest official state state of the union, until Trump's last night.

But while Trump hyped the economy and took jabs at Democrats, CNN political analyst Alex Thompson

says the speech was a tool for him and Republicans going into the midterms later this year.

Now, the political effect of the speech, probably minimal, but it is part of a larger political strategy you are going to see from this White House

is to try to change the direction on Trump's approval on the economy and on immigration.
