Summary

Deborah Sykes was last seen in Rathdrum, Idaho on February 13, 2005. According to her husband, he went to the grocery store in the morning while she was still in bed, and when he returned, she was gone. She apparently took off her wedding ring and left her house on foot, leaving her purse and all her belongings behind. I spoke with Deborah's son Justin about her case and the circumstances surrounding it. I live in Southern California, working for a video game company.

1:15.5

I moved down here specifically to work at this video game company,

1:19.9

which is a lot different than where I was living up north in the Spokane-Slas-Cortland area.

Like I said, I'm currently 30, so that means my mother has been missing

1:30.1

here for about 15 years, I believe, if that's correct. I think she went missing in 05. I was 15.

1:38.3

So that means it's a little weird to think about, but that means I've now known my mom

1:43.7

for an equal amount of time that she was

1:46.3

missing. The last 15 years have certainly gone pretty quickly, I suppose. When I think about it,

1:52.6

you know, like over the last 15 years, it seems like it's gone pretty quickly. But there are times

1:57.9

where it seems like it's gone a lot slower.

2:11.6

And there's obviously been an uncountable amount of times that I've kind of sat there and thought about what happened to my mother and maybe like, you know, what's going to happen if I'm ever going to find out or anything like that.

2:13.5

But yeah, so she went missing.

2:18.3

I don't remember the, I think it was the end of January or early February.

2:25.3

In 2005, when she went missing, it was over a weekend.
