The story of Robert William, Willie Picton began on October 24, 1949 in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada.

His parents were Louise Picton Wright and his father was Leonard Picton.

His mother was most involved with Robert's upbringing.

Leonard's involvement was mostly limited to dealing out brutal beatings

when he deemed Robert to be in want of discipline.
