Summary

1:00.3	Thank you for having me. Now I have to confess, Richard II is one of those kings I sort of gloss over in my histories.
1:09.0	I was familiar obviously with the fact that Shakespeare wrote a play about him, but I was
1:14.0	less familiar with who he was as a king. So can you talk just a little broadly about how Richard
1:21.0	the second became king as a child and then what his legacy is a little bit?
1:26.0	I can certainly try. One of the things I've learned in the course of writing this book is that I
1:30.9	often have to explain to start with that he's not
1:33.8	Richard the Lionheart and nor is he the king in the car park he's the one in between.
