Natural doesn't mean good.

If I say a behavior is natural, or that it evolved, some of you are bound to misinterpret me and think that I've just endorsed said behavior.

0:14.7

For example, many of you will know that I'm vegan, but if I say into the microphone right now that humans evolved to eat meat, a factually true

statement, many of you will react as if I've just said something to undermine veganism.

But I haven't. This is fallacious reasoning of the variety common enough to earn its own name.

0:34.4

Philosophers call this the appeal to nature fallacy. Just because something is natural or

1:33.7

Parents make your own call here, but for what it's worth, this episode is definitely not

intended for all audiences.

1:42.1

Today, I had the privilege of speaking to one of the most influential psychologists in history, Dr. David Buss.

1:49.8

In this episode, you'll get to hear our guest explain sexual conflicts theory.

1:54.7

You'll hear us debate some of the lines of evidence for why female humans and long-term pair bonds have clandestine affairs, or

alternatively, why married women cheat. We discuss intimate partner violence, both physical and

verbal abuse, and Buss explains that these behaviors, while totally evil, are also perhaps
