0:00.0	August 29th, 1776, General George Washington and his army are trapped in Brooklyn by the Brits.
0:14.0	It was the Battle of Long Island.
0:17.0	The Brits had pushed Washington right up against the East River and they had stopped
0:27.5	their pursuit of Washington and decided they would finish him off the next day.
0:33.7	What happened that night is hard to explain without divine providence.
0:41.5	Because somehow Washington and his 9,000 men escaped over the East River in the wee hours of August 29th across to Manhattan and the British didn't know it until he had crossed over.

2:07.6	Well, I had been, as you know, making this series of films called Patterns of Evidence and was working in that area for literally 25 years now,
