We're taking the the later stages of the week off this week football season now deep in the rearview mirror sadly, except that it's right on the horizon with the combine and the

free agency in the draft all their NBA NHL. Talk about what's on the horizon, March Madden, that's what's on the horizon at East Spaghetti, but we're taking it easy today just to do us a favor with any of those sports I just named

We visited with our pal a couple months ago, Lancer line one of the best in the business when evaluating quarterbacks and beyond in the college pipeline, how about we we do a little bit of that, what do you think?

I think that'd be great. I'll throw out a little bet I like if you want to hit a fan of the comm slash minus three, but you know with this draft upcoming and people think that eight and a hundred to make go first overall, he's plus 165.

I think the smart move right now is to bet Evan Neil at plus 195 on fan you'll to go first overall the Jags will smart enough. I know they need a lot of things, but the number one as a just the insurable, the number one most important position group is offensive line.

You have to protect Trevor Lawrence, the guy you took number one last year and it's great as hydrogen may be he's not going to help keep Lawrence upright, so I think they're going to go with the offensive the left tackle in this draft.

I think that's a good bat and I'm seeing him show up in more and more mock drafts, pump the brakes by the way everybody pro tip in talking to Lancer line and his peer group and all the scouts out there to do the mock drafts.

Their north star is not their mock draft, it is their top 50 or top 100 or top 200, however, however deep their playerless goes that your point of reference for who they think is the best player in the draft, not necessarily the mock draft, they're applying positional fits and all that to certain teams and on some level, they're having some fun with what they think would be neat to see.

If you want to see what they who they think the best players in the draft are look at their their like I say they're they're ranking of the actual players in the pipeline a good node for you as people try to assess who they think is the best player if you're just doing the best player on the board kind of philosophy rather than team need.

In nineteen seventy nine the Steelers had won three out of the proceeding five Super Bowls they were really good but the San Diego Chargers were even better that year and the Oilers were good once again and the Chargers destroyed the Steelers in I think late November or early December and it made it clear who the favorite was to get to the Super Bowl out of the AFC side and I mean they whipped them but good over in San Diego and.

The and so it looked like the Steelers were on a collision course to go back to San Diego for the AFC title game all the Chargers had to do was take care of the Oilers who had no Dan Pasterini no world and no Ken burrow their three best offensive players Dan Fouts I think through four picks Vernon Perry got all four of them and I think he also scooped and scored a block field goal or something like that but watching that game.

Or before that game knowing how terrifying Dan Fouts and that and that Don Coriel offense was mean Joe Green blew in a call to bum Phillips the week before that game and said I picked up a tip from Dan Fouts when we were playing them that you should use against him and bum took the note used it against Fouts and

Quentin Wow the Oilers won that game that's how scared the Pittsburgh Steelers Steel curtain was a facing Dan Fouts that year in the playoffs they caught the Oilers who my Grenfro in the back of the end zone and everything else almost got him anyway but the rest is history.

I don't know how different pro footballs lore would be if the Steelers had only one three in the Houston Oilers beat the LA Rams in that Super Bowl.
