and by week's end was coming apart at the seams. The simple act of wearing a mask to guard against

the virus became a hot point red blue political dispute, which the president inflamed disparaging

masks as politically correct and taunting Joe Biden for wearing one. The firing of the state

department inspector general grew more and more suspect as different reports emerged of possible

misconduct by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. The administration stood behind Pompeo,

but announced yet another investigation into the Obama administration for unmasking Mike Flynn,

which is not a crime. President Trump himself alleged with zero proof that TV host Joe Scarborough

had murdered a staff member of his 20 years previous. Twitter appended a note suggesting Trump

didn't have the facts right. Two days later, Trump produced a new executive order seeking to

reign in Twitter and other media giants. By week's end, Minnesota was burning in the wake of another

video of an African-American man George Floyd being slowly asphyxied by a police officer

while the entire country heard his moaning, I can't breathe. Demonstrations broke out in Minneapolis,
