You know, I wasn't going to do this episode today. I had something else planned. I had notes. I had

research. I was going to be clever and analytical and talk about true crime on this episode for an

for an episode of We Saw the Devil, something that was manageable, right? And then I woke up this

morning. I started my job. I drank my Celsius because Celsius is better than coffee.

I sat down on my computer like I do every day. And then early afternoon, I saw what happened in

Minneapolis. And guys, I'm going to be honest. I can't. I just can't. I cannot sit here and

pretend that anything else really matters right now.

I can't just perform normalcy while the federal government is murdering people in the streets.

And I cried. I'm just going to say it. I'm going to admit it because I think it's really honest.

It's important to be honest about what this does to us as humans in this country right now.

I sat at my kitchen table at my computer and I watched that video. By late afternoon, there were

many angles of that video and I cried like a fucking child. And look, I've been doing true crime

for years. I've, you know, on We Saw the Devil,

I've covered some of the most horrific shit that human beings have ever done to one another.

I've looked at crime scene photos that would make most people vomit. You know, I thought that I was

past the point where anything could really crack me open in that way anymore. I think a lot of

you are aware that I was an engineer for

Twitter. I was a BI engineer for Twitter. And part of my job was, I mean, TLDR is that I,

they hired me to work with a French marketing. They Twitter acquired a French marketing company.

And I had to set up filters and things like that, specifically, one of them being for ISIS,

so it could be reported to both Department of Homeland Security and the French equivalent.
