listeners so get ready. I am Maryheim therapist and mom of one living in

0:20.3

Snowy Wisconsin and my top 10 for 2023 totally surprised me.

0:26.0

Hi Mary, I'm Roxanna Kasam Kara, a marketer, a mood reader, and a mom living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and I read more five-star books this year than ever before. Ooh, Roxanna, I am so excited to talk to you about our lists today and to get to do this together.

0:45.7

We were just saying it's rare that you'll find just the two of us on Mike, so I'm very

0:50.6

excited to talk books about you today. You always sell me on so many good ones. Oh yeah, I have my notepad and paper ready

0:57.9

I know I'm gonna get a lot of great recommendations from this list so it's for all currently meeting listeners but it's also just for us to catch up and find out what our best books are so excited to dive in

1:09.4

Totally awesome. Okay well Roxanna I curious, before we get to our lists, what felt significant

1:39.4

all of 2023 my method is I quickly added in good reads and then I go every four or five books and then add the stats on just the columns that matter to me and the reading tracker so I was able to track that and I'm glad I did because I had a very singular year this year

1:56.0

It was an interesting year. I went on a bit of a kind of midlife journey in terms of just kind of re-looking at a lot of my life in my life,

2:05.0

my professional life and my identity as a in my career and also in home life and we bought a new house and changed jobs and did a lot of stuff that required a lot of soul searching,

2:15.3

which was really, really great and really needed, but it really did have an impact on my reading.

2:19.7

So when I looked at my stats back from last year,

2:22.8

I'll keep it really kind of short and high level.

2:25.0

But I read 83 books last year,

2:27.4

which is more than usual, just reflecting

2:29.2

kind of what I was going through in life.

2:31.2

I had 25 starbooks, which honestly like this is why the
