Hi readers, welcome to another minisode of the currently reading podcast. I'm

Katie Cobb a homeschooling mama for living in New Mexico and I'm here today with

Abby Daray the author of The Girl with the Louding Voice. Abby grew up in Lagos, Nigeria and currently lives in England with her husband and daughters.

The Girl with the Lauding Voice is her debut novel,

and it was chosen as a Book of the Month pick for February,

as well as a Read with Jenna

pick. Abby, welcome to currently reading.

Hi, Katie, thank you for having me. It's such an honor to be here.

I'm so excited to have you. I have already gushed about your book The Girl with the Ladding

voice on this week's main episode of currently reading which was episode 30

if anybody wants to go back into the feed of season two but just as a recap, how about you give us a brief summary of what the book is about?

Sure, thank you. So the book is, it's a story of a 14 year old girl called Adne, who really want an education.

She wants nothing more than to be a teacher because her mother has always told her

that her education will give her a voice. Now when her mother dies, a

Dunney is forced to be the third wife of a local man. A tragedy strikes in her

village where she was born and grew up and she moves to Lagos which is a city in Nigeria and becomes a housemaid or house girl for a very wealthy family there.

And there she tries to continue to fight for education and the girl the Lardin voice is a journey, her story to fighting for her dreams.

I love that so much and we're always trying to avoid spoilers so I love to let the author give us their recap so that we don't accidentally reveal anything that you know

readers don't want to have told to them before they actually get the

experience of picking it up. So reading your bio, you have a million degrees first

of all but it seems to me that the experience of Adunie or Ms Tia might be really personal to you in some way.
