Hey, lovely listeners, how are you? Thanks for being here. I have another minisode for you,

as you know, because you clicked on this podcast podcast episode so I don't know why I say

that every time because you know it's coming um but today I'm excited to share this story it comes

from Jess White on Instagram and they refer to themselves as non-binary trans girl boy person, which I think is

really cute, the girl boy person. I haven't seen that many places, and maybe I'm just naive.

Maybe that's elsewhere as well. I don't know. Just thought it was cute. So wanted to share their story.

Let me pull it up here and I will start reading. Lately I have consciously shied away from even

talking about being raised and practicing as a Mormon until I was 24 years old. Not because I don't see positive outcomes from it,

or that I'm ashamed or embarrassed from it,

or because I'm upset about it in any way.

From my perspective,

continuing to associate your sense of self and identity

with a culture and dogma that you not only don't believe in,

you see it to be led by individuals who willingly take

advantage of others who do believe in it. By not relating myself to it when talking about past

experiences or background for new people I meet, I feel like I am truly free of the head

trip that it can be to have removed myself from membership. I very much dislike even calling it

the church. I get so annoyed with myself when I do it. In light of that statement, I do find this page

and pages like it to be of great support and affirmation to individuals and hopefully families

who are choosing or have chosen to no longer be members of the LDS Church.

I know that there were Exmo groups that I found support from when I first left,

and I feel satisfaction from paying that support forward in whatever way I am capable.
