There was flying Tiger line. Besides having a bad ass name, flying Tiger line was America's very first air cargo service.

Oh, it was formed in 1945 at the conclusion of the Second World War when a group of 10 former pilots from the first American volunteer group,

nicknamed the flying tigers came back to the States and convinced an oil tycoon to invest in their company. Nice.

The flying Tiger line was based out of Los Angeles, but they traveled all across the country and were able to pick up government contracts to fly US soldiers and other personnel to and from foreign countries.

If you're wondering why you've never heard of them before, that's probably because they were acquired by federal express in 1988. Okay.

Over the years, the flying Tiger line had built up a great relationship with the US government and played a major role in transporting goods and people to Japan, China, and Vietnam.
