Hi, everybody. Welcome to our first post-election mini-scoop. It's great to see you as we sort of watch the desk settle a little bit. It still feels a little bit like a tornado.

Still feels a little bit like we got a big upheaval

going just politically and across the country as people sort of settle into the results of the

election and also thinking through what does the next year look like? What is actually on the horizon?

And this is very typical. This is what we

would be doing regardless of who won the election. But there were parts of this election that created

some of these, maybe just extending the analogy, like little dust devils that are still spinning,

with a lot of questions and consternations of, well, how did we get to this part of the story?

You know, how did the results to this part of the story?

You know, how did the results end up here?

And so I am going to take a moment for this mini scoop to do a little bit of a media analysis because a lot of the conversation I'm noticing from political analysts and others

is really focused on the power of the media and how the media intersected with politics.

And this is something I'm particularly

interested in as someone who started a nonpartisan news platform. And I thought it would be a good

opportunity just to talk to you a little bit about this because you've shown an interest in this

topic as well. One of the words that's come up, and I have never heard this word as often

as I've heard it in the last week or so.

And the word is heterodoxy.

Heterodoxy.

It's hard, easy enough for me to say, right?

It's not a word that just rolls off the tongue and certainly not a word that's commonly

used in conversation unless you're an academic, which then awesome.
