gonna heat it up a little bit more right now um it's our tradition every monday to kick off the week with at least one good reason why humanity should not be obliterated by an asteroid.

And that's extra important today because today, a space rock named 2025 OW that is roughly the same size as the leaning tower of Pisa is going to make its closest approach to Earth,

just ever so slightly like a tick further away than the moon's orbit.

NASA said this is one of only five asteroids zipping by planet Earth

over the coming week, but it's certainly the biggest.

So Lamar, talk that asteroid out of slamming into us.

Melina Gittin and Florian Crepanor were touring Australia, and they were about 135

miles south of Perth when they hit the kangaroo in the dark, and it caved in the front left side of their

new Suzuki, and it left it undrivable. The pair had spent all of their money, or most of their

money of the trip, to buy the car, but they couldn't afford to insure it. So now they're in trouble.

So their dream holiday had all the hallmarks of a travel nightmare.

This is where the people of Nanop, Australia, came in.

Locals showed up and helped them get their car to the home of Kate and Craig Jenkins,

two residents who took them in for the next three weeks.
