after the Creaton philosopher Epimenides. Epimenides famously said, all Creitans are

liars. The paradox comes into play some would say, because this statement cannot be true.

If Epimenides is telling the truth, then all Creitans are liars. But Epimenides is

Creitans. Meaning he must be a liar, meaning he can't be telling the truth.

Of course, the solution to this paradox is that a liar doesn't have to tell lies all

the time, with the issue being how to determine when a liar is telling the truth and when

he's saying something false. With witness recantations, the state invariably takes the following

position. A witness for the prosecution was telling the truth when he testified at trial

and is now lying when he recants his testimony. And given the Travis slaughter has now recanted

his testimony against Carl Willis and Wayne Braddie, not once, but twice. It's tough

to discount the state's position. On the other hand, it also makes it even harder to believe

Travis's trial testimony, and that might mean that in 2022, Carl and Wayne could finally

be set free.
